ABERFELDY
125th ANNIVERSARY

The brief:

Aberfeldy Distillery was turning 125, and it was releasing a limited edition 25-Year-Old Single Malt to mark the occasion. The campaign needed to honour the distillery’s history, show the craft behind the new release, and give audiences a reason to follow the brand into its next chapter.

My role:

In addition to leading production, I also took on art directing across all digital marketing assets associated with the 125th anniversary campaign. This included developing the visual aesthetics for our social media platforms, website, and other promotional materials.

Producing the film

The film had to cover more than a century of history while still keeping the 25-Year-Old at its centre. Production was built around a single narrative that moves from the distillery’s past to the craft behind the new release.

A limited release at this age needs imagery that matches its price and rarity. We worked alongside photographer
Stuart Miller on art direction for the product shoot, with lighting and styling focused on the bottle’s quality and heritage.

Alongside producing and art directing, I photographed portraits for the campaign, putting faces to 125 years of whisky making. The portraits ran in Bon Appétit as part of a story on how age shapes the flavour of Scotch.
